Rev. Lara Cowtan is a second generation UU minister, a Canadian who has lived many years in the United States, and since 2005, in Switzerland. Lara served as Secretary for the Executive Committee of ICUU for 5 years and was responsible for founding the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Basel. After receiving her Mdiv from Meadville Lombard Theological School in 2017, Rev. Cowtan was ordained by her internship congregation in Westport, CT, and welcomed into preliminary fellowship by the UUA.
Rev. Cowtan has an entrepreneurial consulting ministry to support and develop existing and emerging Unitarian and Unitarian Universalist communities in Europe. Lara’s ministry is providing preaching, workshops, training and leadership support for these communities.
CLF recognizes Rev. Lara’s ministry to be valuable in developing Unitarian and Unitarian Universalist communities in Europe and in promoting UU values internationally. It is a ministry that complements the CLF’s ministry as a “church without walls.”
