Rev. Joseph Santos-Lyons (he/him) is called to community organizing and advocacy with civil society and interfaith groups primarily in Southeast Asia based in The Philippines. He is currently engaged in a cultural work project entitled “Agam” with ICSC, and is consulting minister with DRUUMM. Joseph previously developed youth and social justice ministries in the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia, and served as Executive Director of APANO and OPAL Environmental Justice Oregon.
Called to cultivate social movements that liberates and uplifts all of society, while providing pastoral care to the traumas of generational oppression, Joseph seeks to be an authentic presence, voice and teacher in a multiracial, multicultural world. Drawing on 25 years as a community organizer, cultural performer, and anti-racism activist, Joseph is energized by creating space for communities of color to self-determine and advancing social change at the systemic level. His greatest joy is working side by side with his longtime partner Aimee are raising three children.
Rev. Joseph is a graduate of Harvard Divinity School, ordained in Portland OR, and is in final fellowship with the UUA.
