Greetings from the Church of the Larger Fellowship (CLF)!
If you are new to the CLF, you’ve come to the right place. As a new member of the CLF, this page will help you get to know us better. Have fun exploring!
Should you need it, the CLF toll free telephone number is 800-231-3027. You can also reach our administrator Beth Murray via email at either bmurray@clfuu.org or clf@clfuu.org
Every Sunday at 8:00 pm Eastern Time, you are invited to attend online CLF worship via your computer, your tablet or your smartphone. A live chat happens during the service, so this is a wonderful opportunity to connect with other UUs at the same time. Click here for details. In addition to live worship twice weekly, our archived services are available for you 24/7. You can also attend coffee hour on Facebook after each service in our largest Facebook group, the CLF Coffee Hour. You will begin receiving issues of Quest Monthly via mail, as soon as your name and address reaches the Quest mailing list, you will be mailed a copy of Quest each month. Until then, there are lots of issues to read at our website. If you wish to opt out of paper mailings and read Quest online exclusively, please let Beth know. Make sure to follow the CLF’s main page on Facebook for regular updates and information on upcoming programming. Come join the conversation! You can also join our Facebook community via a number of CLF Facebook groups. (These groups are not just for members; all who abide by our covenant are embraced in our Facebook communities, so feel free to invite friends who might want to participate in our Facebook community as well.) If you are just joining our community, we recommend starting with these two: Each Thursday at 11 am Eastern, the CLF produces a live talk show, the VUU (pronounced, The View! ), offering wide-ranging UU conversation with guest ranging from UU leaders to multi-faith collaborators and social activists, including regular episodes dedicated to sharing the work and mission of Black Lives UU. Join us for this lively weekly conversation coming to a Thursday near you (and archived afterward on our website and youTube channel.) Click here for a humorous sneak peek! More than two million people are incarcerated in prisons and jails across the United States. Like many Americans, most prisoners have never heard of Unitarian Universalism, and those who have non-traditional spiritual beliefs often despair of finding a religious community that will respect their beliefs and encourage their spiritual growth while they are incarcerated. The CLF Prison Ministry exists to serve these people, hungry for our liberal message of faith. Today, incarcerated individuals make up more than 10% of the CLF’s membership! “Free-world” CLF members are invited to participate in our letter-writing ministry, sponsor a membership for an incarcerated CLF member, or join the Worthy Now Network, a liberal religious network connecting those doing prison ministry in their local settings. You can also read about our incarcerated members experiences in their own words. The CLF offers a number of opportunities for small group ministry online at no cost to members. You can join an online covenant group , which will meet twice a month over a period of several months, providing an opportunity to connect more deeply with others in the CLF community. We also offer a number of affinity groups oriented toward a particular population, such as people of color, white allies, seminarians, and more. Visit our Spanish-language ministry, la Iglesia de la Gran Comunidad, online. If you would like to subscribe to a CLF email list, please follow the following links: Here at the CLF, we celebrate families as spiritual communities! A child’s family is their first congregation, the first place they see our faith alive in the world, and the greatest tool parents (and grandparents, siblings and all family members) have in their toolkit is modeling and living those values. But sometimes, having other resources is important too! Some resources that might interest you:
The CLF periodically offers online classes. Take a look. Our denominational UUA website is a great place to start learning more about this faith. Be sure to check out these great UU blogs as well!
