Covenant Group facilitators create an environment in which people can be themselves and grow. They play a unique role in other people’s spiritual journeys, and their faith grows as a result.

How we will empower your leadership
- Staff Support – A staff member will be available to you for coaching and support throughout your leadership journey.
- New Leader Onboarding – You’ll know how to run effective group meetings and get your group off to a good start.
- Ongoing Development – You’ll have access to ongoing training to help you grow as a leader. Leaders will meet as a group once a month to support each other.
- Online Resources – You’ll have access to valuable resources, such as group meeting plans, community-building content, and more.
Qualifications of Covenant Group Leaders
- Be a member in good standing with the Church of the Larger Fellowship.
- Have an understanding of and relationship to Unitarian Universalist principles and values.
- Have community building/group facilitation experience (preferably).
- Have the time and energy to devote to preparing for and leading the group each month (approximately 4-6 hours a month).
Expectations of Covenant Group Leaders
- Lead the group by facilitating the meeting, keeping track of group health and duration, and encouraging members to participate.
- Commit to taking advantage of the church’s leadership development opportunities.
- Appreciate the trust placed in you as the leader of a group.
What is the goal of a Covenant Group Leader?
- To create a small group environment where people can find genuine community, spiritual growth, and be held accountable to living more deeply into their Unitarian Universalist values.
