Safety in Secrets: Our Reproductive Stories and Where They Live
The swirl of emotions around our reproductive lives can run the full gamut — from joy and delight, to relief and peace, to shame and guilt. No matter the decision or outcome, our very personal stories are often complex and politicized.
Join the Rev. Kelli Clement and Terri Burnor as we create a compassionate and accepting space for the sharing and hearing of stories. These may include stories of abortion, adoption, infertility, surrogacy, miscarriage, still birth, sexual trauma and other reproductive experiences.
This service will include song, silence, words and ritual. We will invite participants to share a particular aspect of your story, knowing that a few minutes can’t possibly convey the fullness of your experience. We also acknowledge that it may not be safe for all stories to be shared. But healing and power can come from both witnessing and sharing in community.
Although we are near the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, this online gathering is a time to set politics aside and come together in loving care.
No matter what gender you identify as, all are welcome
Every Wednesdays at 9 pm EST, we will be offering a variety of faith development offerings using the Zoom platform. These will take different forms, from conversation with the minister to prayer services, membership discussions, UU identity-building, theology, interviews with former VUU guests and more. These Wednesday Connect programs are yet another way for us to create connections online with our CLF community. Come explore in a deeper way with each other as we find meaning, wonder and sustenance for the journey.
To join these gatherings, the information will be the same every week.
