Join the Church of the Larger Fellowship and the new Worthy Now Network for a monthly lecture series on issues related to prison and justice ministry. Each month, we feature a lecture and discussion with a different perspective to offer. Lecturers include professional chaplains, experts, justice advocates, community organizers and members of the CLF’s Prison Ministry.
These lectures run the gamut on topics: mass incarceration and human rights, the challenges of re-entry after incarceration, intersectional justice issues, the work of doing ministry and service with those who are incarcerated, just to name a few.
Sarah Romano and Kacey Keeton will join us. Romano is an investigator for Federal Defenders from the Middle District of Alabama. Keeton is the attorney for Robin “Rocky” Myers. Rocky faces execution even after an overwhelmingly white jury recommended life without parole due to a judicial override of the recommended sentence, a practice that was ruled unconstitutional. Learn more about Rocky’s case and its current status and sign a petition urging Governor Bentley to grant clemency.
Robin “Rocky” Myers is a 53-year-old intellectually disabled black man who was convicted in Alabama of capital murder and sentenced to death in 1993 for a crime he did not commit.
