If you want to work where you can make a difference, where your work helps bring support and care to people experiencing the inhumanity of the prison system, where you will be part of a ministry that is working to dismantle the prison industrial system, where your job can incorporate your beliefs and values, all while working in a warm and caring environment that encourages you to be your authentic self, this job is for you!
The CLF Administrator primarily supports our Boston-based Worthy Now Prison Ministry program with over 1800 incarcerated members across the country. Our program consists of both electronic communication and written/mailed correspondence. The Worthy Now program receives and answers letters, publishes and mails newsletters, etc. There are many administrative tasks necessary to provide our prison ministry and bring to our incarcerated members the message that they are worthy, right now, just as they are.
Additionally, we need administrative help with our ministry to our free world members – answering phones, email and postal mail, sending mailings to the congregation, processing donations, and keeping the CLF office supplied with the materials to carry out our mission.
We are looking for someone who loves to organize and get the details done, no matter how small or how big, to be an instrumental part of our ministry.
Note that qualifications may be met as a result of lived experience, volunteer work, professional experience, and/or formal or informal training. We are committed to developing a diverse and talented staff team. If you are excited about this role, but unsure whether you meet 100% of the requirements, we encourage you to inquire and/or apply.
The Church of the Larger Fellowship Unitarian Universalist (CLF), a church without walls, is an online and by mail Unitarian Universalist congregation. We are a diverse community of over 3000 members and friends world-wide, ministering to people of all gender identities and expressions, abilities, races, sexual orientations, and economic statuses. The Worthy Now Prison Ministry Program of the CLF offers spiritual resources to over 1700 incarcerated Unitarian Universalists. We believe that all are worthy of love, right now, just the way they are. Our staff is located throughout the United States and we maintain office space in Boston, MA.
Unitarian Universalism is a non-creedal religion focused on ethical living and spiritual deepening. We believe in the inherent worth and dignity of all people, and we lift up the interdependent web of all life. The Church of the Larger Fellowship seeks to connect Unitarian Universalists, deepen their spirituality, and support them in living with courage to act on our principles. We are passionate about our involvement in racial justice, the Black Lives Matter movement, prison ministry and the prison abolition movement.
