Bringing It Home: Spirituality as a Family Practice
Feb 8, 2016 @ 8:00 PM EST - 9:30 PM EST
It’s so easy to feel spiritually connected and whole in church. But how long does that beautiful feeling last, in the midst of a busy family’s daily stresses? This four-week, 1.5 hour class invites parents and caregivers to bring spiritual practice into life at home with the family–where we need it most! Expect an interactive class, with room for conversation, instruction, and experiential wisdom. During this class, we will explore the following themes:
Session 1: Making a Commitment
Why is family practice important? What are the benefits of making it a priority? An exploration of the science at work in our human need for contemplative and other spiritual practice.
Session 2: Making Time and Space
Commitment to a family spiritual practice means preparing a place for it in our lives. Where and when will it happen? When does your family most need it?
Session 3: Making it Happen
What to do may be the most important consideration of all. We’ll have concrete examples from families like yours, and suggestions on how to get started.
Session 4: Making it Stick
How can we establish family spiritual practice as an ongoing piece of our daily lives?
